"Fist of the North Star": New Voices and Preview Images for the Anime Remake

The eagerly awaited new anime adaptation of the classic "Fist of the North Star" (Original: "Hokuto no Ken") has revealed further details. As announced by the producers, voice actors Yuichi Nakamura as Rei and Ruriko Aoki as Mamiya will join the previously revealed cast. The role of the narrator will be taken by the experienced voice actor Koichi Yamadera.

The announcement coincided with the release of a second trailer, which for the first time shows scenes with the new characters. Additionally, a special character image of Rei was released. The opening theme for the series has been selected as the song "Hallelujah" by the Japanese rock band [Alexandros], which will also be heard in the new opening sequence.

The new adaptation of the cult manga by Buronson and Tetsuo Hara is being produced to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the original work. It is the first standalone anime series in 18 years. The series will air starting April 10, 2026 at 25:00 (effectively April 11) on the channels Tokyo MX and BS11. Worldwide, except for Japan, the series will be available exclusively for streaming on Prime Video. At launch, the first two episodes will be shown, followed one week later by episodes three and four as a double feature.

Prior to that, on March 28, 2026, a stage presentation is planned as part of AnimeJapan 2026 featuring the main voice actors Shunsuke Takeuchi (Kenshiro), Daiki Yamashita (Bat), and M・A・O (Lin), where uncut opening images and collaboration details, among other things, will be shown. Additionally, the series will be presented from April 4 to 5 at the event "CON-CON HONG KONG 2026" in Hong Kong.
