The new "Fist of the North Star" anime (Japanese title: "Hokuto no Ken") is heading into its second round: To conclude the first cour, which ended on June 26, 2026, with Episode 14, a new key visual was released showing Kenshiro and Rei covering each other's backs in battle. The motif is a homage to a key scene from the first cour and depicts the two warriors in front of a giant moon, while the constellations of the Big Dipper glow on their bodies.

The visual was unveiled at Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles as part of the panel for the 15th anniversary of Warner Bros. Japan Anime Production. At the same time, the production team confirmed that the second cour of the reboot will start sometime in 2027. A short trailer announcing the 15th episode was also shown.

The new adaptation of the legendary manga series by Buronson and Tetsuo Hara was created for the 40th anniversary of the original and is the first full-fledged TV adaptation since the 1980s. The first cour comprised 14 episodes and covered the story up to the end of the Fang Clan arc. Production is handled by TMS Entertainment under the direction of Hiroshi Maeda, with CG animation by NIA Animation and Kishida Studio BACU. The main roles are voiced by Shunsuke Takeuchi as Kenshiro and Yuichi Nakamura as Rei.

The series is streamed internationally via Prime Video, where the first 14 episodes are already available. The second cour is expected to continue with the Jagi arc and introduce further central characters such as Toki and Raoh. The original manga has sold over 100 million copies worldwide and is considered a milestone of the action genre.
