French Revolution Lures Castlevania Characters Into Spinoff Series

Netflix's new project "Castlevania: Nocturne" is ready to captivate viewers starting September 28th. The spin-off series, emerging from the shadow of its predecessor, the animated series "Castlevania" by Frederator Studios, promises a new story interwoven with familiar characters and a fresh historical backdrop.



The story of "Nocturne" brings Richter Belmont, a continuation of the bloodline of the original series' main duo, Sypha and Trevor, and Maria Renard, into its core. In a creative twist, the series catapults these protagonists from their mythical, monster-dominated world into the turbulent setting of the French Revolution in 1792.

Richter and Maria are no strangers in the Castlevania universe, as they were already central figures in "Castlevania: Rondo of Blood" and later appeared in other installments of the series such as "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night."

The original series ran successfully on Netflix, with its fourth season concluding in May 2021 after its debut in July 2017.
