A new short anime sequel has been announced for the 35th anniversary of the anime series "Future GPX Cyber Formula". The production directly follows the fourth OVA "Future GPX Cyber Formula SIN", which was released between 1998 and 2000. A first teaser image and a new racing vehicle design have already been released.

The new short film will be about six minutes long and will be fully hand-drawn—without the use of CGI. This was announced by series director Mitsuo Fukuda. In a statement, he explained: "In this short time, we have condensed a 'new year' of Cyber Formula. The story is a direct continuation of 'SIN' and shows what awaits the characters after the battle back then."

The design of the new racing car named "Zenith Asurada AKF-S0/G" comes from Shoji Kawamori, the legendary mechanical designer of the series. The anniversary visual was drawn by Takahiro Yoshimatsu, who was already involved as a character designer in previous series spin-offs.

In addition to the anime production, a new game titled "Future GPX Cyber Formula Spiral" was also announced. The story will be personally supervised by series director Fukuda. Furthermore, several new figures and merchandise items are planned, including model cars and plush toys.
