The free-TV channel ProSieben MAXX has licensed the anime adaptation of the manga "Gachiakuta" for German television. According to an entry in the program schedule, the action series will air from August 21, 2026, every Friday from around 10:30 PM in a German dubbed version. Three episodes will be shown back-to-back. Afterwards, the episodes will be available for free in the Joyn media library.

The 24-episode first season of the series aired on Japanese television from July to December 2025. It was produced by Studio Bones Film, known for elaborate action animations. The director was Fumihiko Suganuma ("Train to the End of the World"), and the screenplay was written by Hiroshi Seko ("Witch Hat Atelier").

Even before the free-TV premiere, viewers can access all episodes of the first season on the streaming service Crunchyroll – both in German and in the original Japanese with subtitles. A second season has already been announced, but a specific start date has not yet been set.

"Gachiakuta" is based on the manga of the same name by Kei Urana and Hideyoshi Andou, which has been published in Japan since 2022. The story is set in a floating sky city, where waste and unwanted residents are banished to a dangerous underworld. The protagonist Rudo is falsely accused of murder and thrown into this underworld. There, supernatural powers awaken within him, and he joins a so-called cleanup crew that fights against monstrous trash creatures. Rudo's goal is to take revenge on those who betrayed him.
