The manga "Gachiakuta" by Kei Urana and Hideyoshi Ando is receiving a TV anime adaptation. Along with a first preview, the voice actors for the main roles have been revealed.
The story centers on Rudo, a young outcast who must navigate a world of trash. After being wrongfully convicted and cast into the abyss ("Naraku"), he encounters the mysterious group called "Akuta," whose members possess special abilities. They recognize his unique potential and seek to recruit him for their cause.
The main cast includes Aoi Ichikawa as Rudo. Katsuyuki Konishi voices Engine, a member of the Akuta squad who discovers Rudo's talent and aims to recruit him. Other members of the group include Zanka, voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, and Riyou, played by Yumiri Hanamori.
The music for the series is composed by Taku Iwasaki, whose previous works include "Bungo Stray Dogs" and "Shin Kamen Rider." The composer himself describes the soundtrack as intentionally loud and characterized by a rough sonic aesthetic.
A presentation featuring the main cast will also take place at AnimeJapan 2025.
