As Shogakukan announced, George Asakura's manga Dance Dance Danseur will receive a TV anime adaptation. This project marks the first time a manga by Asakura has been adapted into an anime.

The manga centers on Junpei Murao, who was fascinated by ballet as a child. However, in his second year of middle school, his father passed away, and he decided he needed to "become more masculine," abandoning his ambitions. Although he still maintains a connection to ballet, he takes up the martial art Jeet Kune Do and becomes popular in his class. Then, one day, a new transfer student named Miyako Godai joins Junpei's class—her mother runs a ballet studio. Miyako notices Junpei's interest in ballet and invites him to dance ballet together.
