The streaming service Crunchyroll has released a first German dubbed teaser for the 29th »Detective Conan« theatrical film. The roughly 30-second clip offers a preview of the adventure, which will hit theaters in Germany, Austria, and German-speaking Switzerland on August 25, 2026. The film bears the German title »Der gefallene Engel des Highways« (Japanese original title: »Highway no Datenshi«, international: »Fallen Angel of the Highway«).

Directed by Takahiro Hasui (»YAIBA: Samurai Legend«) at Studio TMS Entertainment. The Japanese premiere took place on April 10, 2026, where the film launched with great success and crossed the 10 billion yen mark. The title song »Last Dance Anata to« is by singer MISIA.

The plot: Conan and his friends visit a motorcycle festival in Kanagawa when a mysterious black motorcycle spectacularly jumps over their car. Traffic police officer Chihaya Hagiwara – once called the "Goddess of the Wind" by Ran – gives chase, but the rider escapes and heavily damages her bike. At the festival, a state-of-the-art police prototype named »Angel« is unveiled. Shortly after, an identical black motorcycle appears in Tokyo, which the police dub »Lucifer«. The investigation leads to a personal tragedy: Chihaya's brother Kenji Hagiwara and his colleague Jinpei Matsuda died years earlier while defusing a bomb. Conan must solve the mystery of the fallen angel.

Crunchyroll is bringing the film to theaters both in a German dubbed version and in the original Japanese with subtitles. In recent weeks, the publisher had already provided a subtitled trailer. Additionally, the first 507 episodes of the TV series are available in German on the platform, including 150 episodes as HD remasters. The first 27 theatrical films are available on DVD and Blu-ray in this region; a disc release of the 28th film, which ran in theaters in August 2025, is still pending. The 27th film will air as a German TV premiere on ProSieben MAXX on April 3, 2026, at 8:15 PM.
