The company Red Planet announced today that it has officially acquired the rights to the first three Inuyasha movies. The feature films based on the anime series are set to be released starting in late summer 2005 at two-month intervals, both in German dubbing and in Japanese with German subtitles.

The text templates for the German dubbing as well as the subtitles will be created by the InuYasha Fan Project (IYFP), which also provided the alternative subtitles for the TV series DVDs. The dubbing will likely be produced by PPA Film, featuring the same voice actors as in the TV series.

The cinema promo tour, also planned for January 2006, is still set to take place, with initial negotiations already underway.
