Gintama spin-off novel series Class 3-Z Teacher Ginpachi is getting an anime adaptation

At the Gintama Ato no Matsuri event, it was announced that an anime adaptation of Tomohito Ōsaki's spin-off novel series "3-Nen Z-Gumi Ginpachi-Sensei" is in the works. Based on Hideaki Sorachi's Gintama manga, the spin-off series is set at Gintama High School and follows the unconventional teacher Ginpachi Sakata and his students. The story was first published in 2006, with the final volume released in 2018.

Previously, the series 3-Nen Z-Gumi Ginpachi Sensei was adapted as a short film at the end of several episodes of the Gintama anime series. The original Gintama manga by Sorachi began in 2003 and concluded in June 2019. The manga has inspired numerous TV anime series, three anime films, and various other adaptations, including original video anime (OVA), event anime, live-action films, and live-action net spin-offs.
