'Girlfriend, Girlfriend' Anime Returns for Season 2: Official Details Revealed

The second season of the anime "Girlfriend, Girlfriend" (Kanojo mo Kanojo) has been officially announced. The official website of the series revealed a teaser promotional video, key visual, and details about the additional staff.



The upcoming season will feature a mix of new and returning talents. Takatoshi Suzuki, known for directing episodes of "A Couple of Cuckoos" and "The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These," will take the helm as the new director at Synergy SP. Keiichirō Ōchi will once again be in charge of the series' scripts, collaborating with Kazuhiko Inukai. Shouko Hagiwara will handle character design.

As for the voice cast, Aoi Koga will lend her voice to the character Risa Hoshizaki. The second season of the anime will air in October on the Animeism programming block on MBS and TBS.

In the first season of the anime, which aired in July 2022, Junya Enoki, Ayane Sakura, Azumi Waki, Ayana Taketatsu, and Rie Takahashi played the main roles.

The story of "Girlfriend, Girlfriend" revolves around Naoya, who is deeply in love with his girlfriend Saki. When he unexpectedly receives a love confession from Nagisa, instead of rejecting her or cheating on Saki, Naoya boldly asks Saki for permission to date both of them.
