The episode begins with adventurers training on a field at the edge of town. Among them are the Goblin Slayer, the Spearman, and the red-haired wizard boy. During a break, they discuss their goals and the challenges they must face.

Shortly after, the adventurers hear screams and realize that goblins are attacking. The Goblin Slayer instructs the group to form a semicircle around the wizards. Then, he investigates and confirms the presence of the goblins. The adventurers prepare for battle, with the Goblin Slayer taking the lead. They successfully fend off the goblins but realize the creatures are not their primary target.

The Priestess suggests that the goblins might be after the new adventurers who have already returned home. She volunteers to rescue them, seeing this as a test for her advancement in the hierarchy. The group agrees, and she sets off with a small team.

Meanwhile, the Goblin Slayer and the other adventurers continue fighting the goblins. They encounter a shaman among the goblins, whom they manage to defeat. The Goblin Slayer then devises a plan to flood the goblin tunnels by melting the ice of a lake above them.

Back in the forest, the Priestess and her team find the new adventurers under attack by kobolds. They rescue them and bring them back to town. The young wizard amplifies his voice with a spell, temporarily driving the kobolds away. They return safely to town, and the Priestess successfully advances in rank.

The episode ends with the young wizard and another adventurer deciding to embark on a journey together to become dragon slayers.
