The episode begins with Nikaidou, a soldier, waking up to find his prosthetic hand missing. Inkarmat, a woman known for her clairvoyance, helps him locate it. The scene shifts to Private Tanigaki, another soldier, who is conflicted about his mission to kill Sugimoto but fears that pursuing it would hurt Asirpa.

Tanigaki encounters Inkarmat, who is pregnant and about to give birth. He expresses his desire to assist her during the delivery. Meanwhile, Sergeant Tsukishima is on their trail, intent on arresting Tanigaki for disobeying orders.

Tanigaki and Inkarmat seek refuge in a remote Ainu village, home to Huci, a skilled midwife and Asirpa’s grandmother. Tanigaki wants to fight Tsukishima, but Inkarmat urges him to flee instead.

Outside the village, Tsukishima confronts Tanigaki. They are unexpectedly interrupted by Lieutenant Koito, who orders Tsukishima to stand down. A discussion ensues about their loyalty to Lieutenant Tsurumi and the reasons behind their missions. Koito convinces Tsukishima to let Tanigaki and Inkarmat go.

Back in the village, Inkarmat goes into labor. Huci takes charge, instructing the villagers to prepare for the birth. She performs traditional Ainu rituals and techniques to aid in the difficult delivery. Finally, Inkarmat successfully gives birth to a baby girl.

Afterward, Koito advises Tsukishima to spend a week in town to cool his head and continue reporting to Lieutenant Tsurumi as if nothing unusual had happened. Koito also allows Tanigaki and Inkarmat to escape, advising them to head south to avoid encountering others.

The episode ends with Tanigaki and Inkarmat thanking Koito and Tsukishima as they part ways.
