We are witnessing a series of bizarre events. The hardened Ushiyama transforms under the influence of datura poison into a giant automaton controlled by a young boy, Chiyotarou. This unexpected twist is skillfully executed, particularly through Ushiyama's fondness for dried peaches, leading to humorous allusions, as "momo" in Japanese can also mean "thigh."

Chiyotarou, who initially appears innocent, decides to get rid of the dangerous "cat" he adopted by pushing Ushiyama into the water. The irony of fate, however, is that Chiyotarou's guilt over Ushiyama's presumed death is unfounded, as the cold water brings Ushiyama back to his senses, leaving him with no memory of their shared moments.

Sekiya's eccentricity is exposed when it turns out that after his daughter's tragic accident, he turned to poison and chance to justify his beliefs. The tension rises as Kadokura and Sekiya face off in a battle of fate, with Hijikata's whereabouts at stake.

The episode reaches its climax when Kadokura and Hijikata manage to escape death by using pufferfish poison to counteract the effects of aconite.
