Kadokawa recently released updates regarding the anime adaptation of Akihiro Ononaka's manga titled "Gushing Over Magical Girls (Mahō Shōjo ni Akogarete)." Among the key details of this announcement are the reveals of the main cast and the primary members of the production team.



The main casting decisions are:

- Fūka Izumi will take on the role of Utena Hiiragi, aka her alter ego Magia Baiser. Utena's character arc is fascinating, as she begins as a lover of magical girls. However, her journey takes a turn when an enchantment transforms her into a magical girl antagonist.

- Kaori Maeda will voice Haruka Hanabishi, also known as Magia Magenta. Haruka's character has a close connection to Utena, as they share a classroom, and she is part of the magical girl group Tres Magia.

- Misato Fukuen has been cast as Venalita, a mascot character who plays a central role in Utena's transformation.

As for the production team, the anime is being directed by Tadato Suzuki and Atsushi Ootsuki at Asahi Production. Key responsibilities include:

- Noboru Kimura is in charge of the series' scripts.
- Yasuka Ōtaki is responsible for character designs.
- Sound direction by Satoshi Motoyama.
- On the music front, Yasuharu Takanashi, Akinari Suzuki, and Johannes Nilsson will collaborate, with Lantis leading music production.

The anime is scheduled for release in 2024.
