The upcoming adaptation of the light novel series into a television anime has added two more cast members. Announced on Thursday, Ryota Suzuki will play the character Ryuya Nagiura. Tomotaka Ono will voice the part of Reita Shiratori.
The new additions join the existing cast, which includes Yuto Uemura as the protagonist Natsuki Haibara and Kanon Takao as Hikari Hoshimiya. The production is being handled by Studio Comet under the direction of Misuzu Hoshino, with Keiichiro Ochi in charge of series composition.
Ryuya Nagiura is described as a member of the basketball team whose outward appearance seems rough. His nature, however, is direct and straightforward. The character shares a past with the main character Natsuki. Reita Shiratori, on the other hand, acts as a balancing element within his group of friends and takes on the role of the level-headed mediator. Both voice actors commented on their respective roles as part of the announcement.
A special advance screening is scheduled for March 15 at United Cinema Toyosu in Tokyo. Kanna Nakamura, who voices the role of Miori Motomiya in the series, will participate in this event. Ticket sales for this event are being handled through the ticket portal Lawson Ticket. Those interested can apply for tickets until March 1.
The story is based on the light novel series by Kazuki Amemiya, which originally won the grand prize in the HJ Novel Award. The story centers on Natsuki Haibara, a university student in his final year who looks back on a less-than-fulfilling youth. Suddenly, he finds himself seven years in the past—exactly one month before his entrance into high school. He uses this temporal displacement to make a new attempt at shaping his youth, leading to a romantic comedy.
The illustration duties for the novel series were handled by Gin. A full-color manga adaptation is being serialized on the Comic Fire platform. The light novel itself is now in its final story arc.
