For "Haikyu!!" Day on August 19, the creators of the anime series released new material for the two projects announced for 2027. In the special program "HAIKYU!! RECEPTION #3" on TOHO animation's YouTube channel, a concept visual for the film "Haikyu!! The Movie: VS The Little Giant" (Japanese: "劇場版ハイキュー!! VS 小さな巨人") as well as an action PV, a teaser visual, and two school visuals for the special anime "Haikyu!! Where Monsters Go" (Japanese: "ハイキュー!! バケモノたちの行くところ", literally "Where the Monsters Go") were shown. August 19 is the official "Haikyu!!" Day, as the digits 8, 1, and 9 can be read as "hai-kyu". In the program, alongside manga editor Azuma Ritsuki as moderator, voice actors Ayumu Murase (Hinata Shoyo) and Kaito Ishikawa (Kageyama Tobio) appeared.

The concept visual depicts Hinata Shoyo from Karasuno High School and Hoshiumi Korai from Kamomedai High School: in the quarterfinals of the Spring High School Tournament, the two outside hitters face each other on the court of the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium. Both are considered "Little Giants," both fight on equal footing – their gazes hint at the fiercely contested battle over this title.

The special anime "Haikyu!! Where Monsters Go" focuses on the clash between Fukurodani Gakuen High School and Mujinazaka High School. The released action PV shows the two players counted among the country's best spikers, Bokuto Kotaro and Kiryu Wakatsu, engaging in an open exchange of blows where neither gives the other anything. The teaser visual places the two ace players in front of their banners reading "Ikkon Nyūkon" ("One Ball, One Soul") and "Hyakuren Seikō" ("Hundred-Forged Steel"). The school visuals turn the spotlight on the duel of the setters: Akaashi Keiji, who paves the way for Bokuto Kotaro, and Usuri Mitsuru, who supports Kiryu Wakatsu – this pairing is also considered a highlight of the production.

Susumu Mitsunaka is responsible for direction and screenplay of both productions, with animation handled by Studio Production I.G. The film continues "Haikyu!! The Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump," which started in February 2024 and grossed over 20 billion yen worldwide. The source material is by Haruichi Furudate; his manga ran from 2012 to 2020 in "Weekly Shonen Jump" and reached a total circulation of over 75 million copies.

Additionally, the collaboration with the volleyball event "Emutt presents SV.LEAGUE ALL STAR GAMES 2026-27 HOKKAIDO" was announced, scheduled to take place on January 30, 2027. Ayumu Murase, the voice of Hinata Shoyo, will be a guest there. Also planned are newly recorded audio contributions at the venue, photo spots with the characters, and greeting activities with mascot costumes.
