Our protagonists, Maru and Kiruko, continue their journey through a detailed dystopian world. Their casual conversations and mistakes, such as a misprinted sign, offer a glimpse into their personalities and their resilience despite the harsh environment they live in.

At the heart of this episode is the Order of the Immortals, a group Kiruko hopes may have a certain doctor among their ranks who could hold the key to understanding their current situation. They are discovered by the group, and Dr. Usami, the leader of the Order, sends his assistant to retrieve them. However, they are intercepted by another group, the Liviuman, who oppose the Order's human experiments. Their leader, Mizuhashi, shares her harrowing experience within the Order, which makes Dr. Usami suspicious.

Kiruko and Maru learn that the doctor they seek is not part of the Order, but they agree to eliminate the Hiruko creatures lurking in the Order's underground garage, even though Maru worries about a possible trap. They do find Hiruko in the garage, but these creatures appear inactive due to starvation.

A surprising twist occurs when Kiruko has a horrific dream, seemingly caused by a large Hiruko. In this dream, she and Maru are devoured. During this terrifying experience, Kiruko calls out for Robin. When she wakes up, she finds Maru performing mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on her.
