The highly anticipated adaptation of "Heavenly Delusion" has just released a key visual and announced its premiere date in April 2023 on Disney+. The main cast of the anime includes Sayaka Senbogi as Kiruko, Gen Sato as Maru, Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Kona, and Misato Matsuoka as Anzu.

Production I.G., known for its top-tier animations, has brought the series to life with Hirotaka Mori as director, Makoto Fukami as series composer, Utsushita as character designer, and Kensuke Ushio as music composer.

The anime was first teased in October 2022 with an image and a release date, followed by the release of a trailer in November. "Heavenly Delusion" is based on a manga series written and illustrated by Masakazu Ishiguro, serialized in Kodansha's manga magazine Monthly Afternoon. The story follows Maru and Kiruko on their quest to find heaven in a world inhabited by supernatural beings. Despite their journey, they come to realize that heaven is but a distant dream.
