The episode begins with a flashback to Helck's childhood, where he and his younger brother Cless live in the slums of the royal capital. They are orphans and struggle to survive in a harsh environment, often being harassed by nobles. Despite all the hardships, Helck is determined to protect Cless at all costs. Cless falls seriously ill due to malnutrition, and Helck desperately searches for a doctor who can save him. After being turned away multiple times, he finally encounters a nobleman who helps them. This nobleman belongs to the esteemed Raphaed family, and his daughter Shalamy becomes the friend of Helck and Cless. Years later, Cless has risen to become Captain Cless of the Third Infantry Regiment and enjoys high esteem. Helck, on the other hand, works in construction and repair. Despite their different paths in life, the brothers occasionally meet for meals, together with Shalamy.

The episode revolves around Helck's heroic powers, which he was unaware of until the nobleman pointed them out to him. Helck rejects them, believing himself to be just an ordinary man who is good at manual labor.

Towards the end of the episode, Cless informs Helck that he will be departing on an expedition to deal with troublesome monsters and that he may not return for some time. Helck assures him that a special meal will await him upon his return.
