"Pon no Michi," an upcoming anime centered around the game of Mahjong, recently announced that Hibiku Yamamura will voice Haneru Emi, a dedicated high school Mahjong player. Along with this news, a new image for the anime was also released.

The anime is set to air in January 2024. It tells the story of Nashiko Jippensha, a high school girl who revives her father's abandoned Mahjong parlor and turns it into a place where her friends can cook, drink tea, and occasionally play Mahjong.
Alongside Yamamura, the cast includes Kaori Maeda as the protagonist Nashiko, Iori Saeki as Pai Kawahigashi, Shion Wakayama as Izumi Tokutomi, Yui Kondou as Riche Hayashi, and Akio Ōtsuka as Chonbo, a Mahjong spirit.
Tatsuma Minamikawa directs and writes the series at OLM, with the original story credited to IIS-P. Negi Haruba is responsible for the original character designs, and Kenji Ōta adapts these designs for animation.
A manga adaptation of the anime, illustrated by Tsukasa Unohana, recently debuted in Kodansha's Nakayoshi magazine.
