On July 5, the production of the TV animation series „Higashijima Tanzaburō wa Kamen Rider ni Naritai“ (Higashijima Tanzaburō Wants to Become Kamen Rider) released new material. A second promotional clip as well as further details about the cast of the main characters were introduced. Among the new voice roles are Maaya Sakamoto as teacher Yuriko Okada, who dreams of becoming „Denki Ningen Tackle,“ Kenichi Suzumura as Kazuha Shimamura, who identifies as „Kamen Rider V3,“ Soma Saito as his younger brother Mitsuba Shimamura, who is inspired by „Riderman,“ and Ai Fairouz as Yukaris, a high school student who secretly acts as a SHOCKER fighter.

The second promotional clip offers a glimpse into dynamic fight sequences and characteristic dialogues of the four main characters, closely adhering to the style of the original manga source. Additionally, new character illustrations were released, showing the characters both in everyday life and in their transformation outfits. Exclusive material includes interviews with the voice actors as well as photo documentation in which they reenact iconic poses of their roles.

The series is based on the manga by Yokusaru Shibata and tells the story of the 40-year-old protagonist Tanzaburō Higashijima, who tirelessly dreams of becoming a Kamen Rider. His daily life takes an unexpected turn when he becomes involved in a series of attacks by „fake SHOCKER“ members.

Directed by Takahiro Ikezoe and based on a concept by Tōko Machida, the animation is produced by LIDEN FILMS. The main role of Tanzaburō is voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi. The series will begin airing in October 2024.
