The latest episode of the series revives the classic storytelling style of Kamishibai. Even though the dialogues and the characters' mouth movements were not synchronized, this was more than made up for by the exciting story. Compared to the last episode, there were fewer Kamishibai moments this week.

We get to know the Okibi family, including the new member Koushi and his sister Hinako. We also meet the family doctor, Dr. Takimi, who delivers good and bad news to Koushi about Hinako's condition. It turns out that while there is no real cure, the right diet and a hygienic environment should help her regain her strength.

Next, we meet Kira, the daughter of Yuoshichi and Hibana, who is looking forward to having Koushi and Hinako as siblings. In their conversation, Koushi and Kira learn that it is customary to give children names with a specific meaning, and that the numbers in the men's names reflect their birth order and carry a certain significance.

In a surprising twist, we learn that the inheritance can now be passed down to both girls and boys, breaking the traditional, exclusively male line. This clears the way for Kira, played by Hayami Saori, to take over her father's factory, much to the dismay of her mother Hibana, who has other plans. She warns Kira not to take things for granted, as there may be other potential heirs to the family factory.

For Kaho, her survival is a welcome relief, but we wonder what consequences she will face as a curse-bearer in her new village. Benio remains determined and brave, while Touko's impulsive behavior on the truck worries us. Kaho's escape attempt shows her independent spirit, but also the dangers she exposes herself and others to.

The cliffhanger that Touko was thrown out turned out to be false and reminds us of the dangers to come. Hotaru looks like a princess in her wedding dress, but her future is uncertain as she begins a new life as a curse-bearer.

This episode also gives us a glimpse into the mysterious world of the divine clans, who control the elements. In the past, they used fire to curb overpopulation. Although they are called divine clans, they seem more like humans than spider beings, and their true form remains a mystery. All we have seen of them so far are the dangerous spiders known as fallen gods.

The episode ends with a family dinner, where Koushi thanks Dr. Takimi for taking care of Hinako and being there for her during a difficult time, as their mother recently died from a factory poison.
