The series begins in the midst of a battlefield, where the Mulnite Empire is fighting against the beasts. Terakomari Gandesblood, a vampire and self-proclaimed prisoner for three years, is introduced as a member of the noble Gandesblood clan. She is frustrated by her inability to use magic, her lack of athletic talent, and her aversion to drinking blood, which is vital for vampires.

Terakomari's life takes a turn when Villhaze, a young lieutenant in the Mulnite imperial army, appears as her personal maid. Villhaze informs her that she has been appointed by the Empress as one of the seven Crimson Lords, powerful vampire rulers. Terakomari is shocked to learn that her father recommended her for this position by exaggerating her abilities to the Empress. The contract is sealed with a kiss from the Empress while Terakomari is asleep.

The duties of a Crimson Lord are explained: Every three months, they must lead their troops to victory in wars. Failure to do so results in death. Terakomari is introduced to her troops, who initially doubt her abilities. However, Villhaze helps paint an intimidating image of Terakomari and convinces the troops of her strength. They win their first battle against the army of the Lapelico Kingdom, solidifying her image as a strong leader.

Terakomari's newfound fame catches the attention of the media, and she is interviewed by Melka Tiano from the Six Nations Newspaper. However, the interview turns into fake news, stirring unrest among the other nations and putting her in a precarious situation.

The episode ends with Terakomari having to adjust to her new role and responsibilities, while Villhaze continues to serve as her maid—albeit with some questionable actions like sniffing her pillow.
