Hiro Mashima recently announced the start of his newest project titled "Dead Rock." This news, published in the July 2023 issue of Monthly Shounen Magazine, highlights that the new manga will be featured in the August issue, available from July 6th. Mashima hinted that "Dead Rock" will be a short-term serialized manga, differing from his long-term projects.

"Dead Rock" delves into the realm of dark fantasy and is set in a demonic academic institution of the same name, Dead Rock. As a demon academy, Dead Rock serves as a breeding ground for future demon kings who will rule over the underworld of the demon realm. The protagonist, Yakuto, hails from this demon world and faces the daunting challenge of passing Dead Rock's entrance exams.

Hiro Mashima has already left his mark on the manga industry with two ongoing series, "Edens Zero" and "Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest." The latter is a continuation of his earlier work, created in collaboration with artist Atsuo Ueda. One of Mashima's significant contributions to manga is "Fairy Tail," which ran as a series for over a decade and ultimately spanned 63 volumes. This adventure-fantasy series gained immense popularity and was subsequently adapted into various forms, including TV anime, anime films, and original video anime episodes.
