In episode 9 of "Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable," the plot revolves around White Day, focusing on the interactions between the characters and a winter fishing trip. Matsuo asks Tsubasa for advice on how to apologize to Minami and Sayuri for his past rudeness. Following Tsubasa's suggestion to simply apologize, Matsuo also gifts Minami and Sayuri homemade milk senbei and onion cake from Uzenya to express his remorse. The gesture is well-received, and both girls show gratitude for Matsuo's efforts.

The episode then transitions to a planned smelt fishing expedition at Lake Abashiri, which Matsuo, Tsubasa, and Matsuo's father participate in. Coincidentally, Minami is also fishing in the same area with her family.
