Honobu Yonezawa's "Petit Bourgeois" novels are being adapted into a TV anime

The highly acclaimed "Petit Bourgeois" series by author Honobu Yonezawa is set to be adapted into a TV anime. This series includes popular novels such as "The Spring-Limited Strawberry Tart Case" and "The Summer-Limited Tropical Parfait Case." The anime adaptation, planned for July, promises to add a new dimension to Yonezawa's youth mystery stories.

The story follows Jogoro Kogamo, a character who, after a discouraging experience in detective work, is determined to live a modest, ordinary life. By his side is Yukiko Kosai, a classmate with similar ambitions. Their journey, aimed at achieving a peaceful high school life, becomes complicated when they unwillingly get entangled in various mysteries and troubles.

Actors Shoichiro Umeda and Hina Youmiya will lend their voices to the main characters. Umeda is excited to portray the relationships between the characters, while Youmiya focuses on bringing depth to her character's detailed actions and thoughts from the novel.

The anime boasts a strong creative team, with Mamoru Kanbe directing and Atsushi Saito in charge of character design. Toshiya Ono is responsible for the series composition, while Takahiro Obata will compose the music.

The teaser promo video is narrated by Umeda and Youmiya, offering fans a first look at the animated characters. A visually appealing teaser image accompanies the promo video, showcasing the protagonists amidst an array of sweets—a nod to the thematic elements of the novel.

Author Honobu Yonezawa shared his excitement for the anime, expressing his confidence that the adaptation will further enhance the charm of the series through its visual and auditory elements.
