Episode 9 begins at Yuuya's house on the edge of the Darkest Regions, where he and Luna engage in a heated discussion with Lexia, the first princess of the Kingdom of Arselia. The debate revolves around Yuuya's recently displayed teleportation magic, an ability considered the stuff of legends. The group agrees to keep this power a secret to avoid societal upheaval. During this discussion, it is revealed that Luna was only pretending to sleep and had silently listened to the entire conversation.

Luna then begins to recount her dark past. She was an orphan, and her struggle for survival led her into a life of crime. She was taken in by a member of the Dark Guild, a notorious organization involved in various criminal activities, and trained as an assassin. Luna gained fame as a Headhunter, a highly skilled contract killer. Her final mission was to assassinate Lexia, but she failed.

Considering Luna's dire circumstances, Lexia surprisingly offers her a position as her personal guard. Despite Luna's initial resistance due to her criminal past, Lexia remains convinced of her decision. Lexia's persuasive arguments eventually convince Luna to accept the offer, marking a turning point in her life. The episode is then lightened by a humorous sequence in which Lexia and Luna engage in a friendly competition for Yuuya's affection, culminating in a declaration of war.

After the meal, they are greeted by Owen, Lexia's loyal retainer, who expresses his relief at finding her safe. However, he reacts with hostility upon learning of Luna's new role as Lexia's guard, leading to a tense confrontation that is eventually defused by Lexia's resolve and Yuuya's reassurances.

As Lexia and her group prepare to depart for the palace, Luna and Yuuya tearfully bid each other farewell.

Back at home, Yuuya encounters a pig-like creature in his bathroom, which he successfully tames and names Akatsuki due to its color (see Night). During this interaction, he discovers that his "Appraisal" ability has evolved into "Discernment," now allowing him to see Akatsuki's abilities and stats.

The episode ends with Yuuya returning to school and the announcement of an upcoming class ball game, marking his return to normal life.
