Kadokawa has announced that Izumi Ōkido's light novel series "Rekishi ni Nokoru Akujo ni Naru zo" (I'll Become a Villainess That Will Go Down in History) will be adapted into a TV anime. This announcement was accompanied by the launch of an official website and Twitter account, along with a promotional image for the series.

The story revolves around a girl named Alicia, who harbors a disdain for conventional heroines. Her fantasies take a real turn when she is reincarnated as the villainess in her favorite otome games. Her goal is to rise as the most wicked villainess in history, but her attempts to embody evil paradoxically attract the affection of the prince.

Izumi Ōkido initially serialized the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2018 and later adapted it into a light novel series with illustrator Jyun Hayase in 2020. The series has released four volumes so far, with a fifth in preparation. A manga adaptation by Akira Hoshi began in 2020 and has three compiled volumes, with a fourth set to be released soon.
