I'm in Love with the Villainess: A New Perspective on Otome Game Adaptations

"I'm in Love with the Villainess," the twist on the classic otome game narrative, is now receiving its highly anticipated anime adaptation, set to premiere this October. The official announcement came alongside the release of the first promotional video, the reveal of the key visual, and additional cast members.



The series will feature an ensemble of talented voice actors, including Aimi, Ikumi Hasegawa, Sara Matsumoto, and Minami Kurisaka. Yū Serizawa will lend her voice to the protagonist Rae Taylor, while Karin Nanami will voice Claire Francois.

"I'm in Love with the Villainess" presents an interesting twist on the typical otome game narrative. The story follows office worker Oohashi Rei, who finds herself in the body of the protagonist of her favorite otome game, "Revolution." To her surprise, the first character she encounters is the main antagonist, Claire Francois, for whom she has a soft spot. Rei then sets out to pursue a romance with Claire, deviating from the traditional storyline.

The anime adaptation is under the creative direction of Hideaki Oba, while Ayumu Hisao takes charge of scriptwriting. Youko Satou will adapt AONOSHIMO's and Hanagata's character designs into animation. A harmonious blend of music by Noriyuki Asakura and Usagi to Uma will add depth to the series' atmosphere.
