A new story arc of the Trigun series begins with TRIGUN STARGAZE. This new anime production continues the story of the predecessor Trigun Stampede and was realized by Studio Orange. The first episode bears the title "Wandering Days" (in the original: "Wandering Days").

The series is conceived as a continuation and simultaneously the final part of the reinterpretation of the Trigun universe produced by Studio Orange. In collaboration with the original author Yasuhiro Nightow, a narrative was created that builds upon the preceding series, but also pursues new creative paths. The direction was taken over by Masako Satō, while Kazuyuki Fudeyasu is responsible for the screenplay and series composition.

The plot begins two and a half years after the events of Trigun Stampede. In the barren world of the desert planet No Man's Land, the journalist Meryl Stryfe and her colleague Milly Thompson pursue two interconnected mysteries: the disappearance of the outlawed gunman Vash the Stampede and a series of thefts of valuable "Plants," the artificial lifeforms that are essential for the world's energy supply. Their investigations point to a connection to the organization of Vash's brother, Millions Knives, which leads the protagonists on a course towards a final confrontation.

The narrative also follows Vash himself, who lives under the name Eriks in a remote place. His reclusive life is interrupted by the plea of a girl named Jessica, who delivers an emergency transmission from her ship, the "third colony." This incident forces Vash to confront his past once again.

The central characters are portrayed by established voice actors. The role of Vash the Stampede is once again voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka. Sakura Andō once again lends her voice to the determined reporter Meryl Stryfe. Milly Thompson, her new partner, is portrayed by the voice actress Chinatsu Ayamori. The central antagonistic figure, Millions Knives, is voiced in this series by Ryūji Satō, who thus replaces Junya Ikeda from the predecessor.

The animation remains in the hands of Studio Orange, which is known for its characteristic use of 3D computer animation. The visual concept and original character design are the responsibility of Kōji Tajima. The musical accompaniment comes from Tatsuya Katō. The opening of the series is the title "Picaresque Hero," performed by Ano, while the group Fomare contributes the ending song with "Stardust."
