"Isekai Suicide Squad" announces main cast and promotional video

The original anime "Isekai Suicide Squad," inspired by DC Comics' "Suicide Squad," has announced its main cast and released a teaser promotional video. The anime is an adventurous fantasy story set in an alternate world featuring well-known villains like Harley Quinn and the Joker.

In this unique setting, the characters are summoned by A.R.G.U.S. director Amanda Waller for a dangerous mission into a world of swords and magic, connected through a portal. Anna Nagase portrays the free-spirited and crazy Harley Quinn, while Yuichiro Umehara voices her lover and the crime boss of Gotham City, the Joker. Rengo Yamaguchi plays the sharpshooter Deadshot.

Additional cast members include Takehito Koyasu as the self-proclaimed superhero with a twisted sense of justice, Peacemaker, and Jun Fukuyama as Clayface, a shapeshifter with a body made of mud and a failed actor. Subaru Kimura voices the shapeshifter King Shark.

The teaser video shows Harley Quinn and her team wreaking havoc in the alternate world. Additionally, the title theme "Another World" by Tomoyasu Hotei has been announced.

"Isekai Suicide Squad" is set to air and stream in 2024. The animation is produced by WIT STUDIO under the direction of Eri Nagata, with series composition and script by "Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World" writer Tappei Nagatsuki and Eiji Umehara, character design by Naoto Hosoda, and music by Kenichiro Suehiro.
