On Thursday, a newly opened website and Twitter account announced that the TV anime adaptation of the light novel Isekai Yakkyoku (Alternate World Pharmacy) by Liz Takayama has been approved.

Isekai Yakkyoku revolves around Kanji Yakutani, whose younger sister died from an incurable disease, leading him to dedicate his life to finding a cure for it. Instead, he dies from overwork at the age of 31 and is reborn as a 10-year-old boy in another world with a healthcare system that favors only the wealthy. Yakutani, now known as Felma, spends his time using his knowledge of modern medicine to improve healthcare for everyone.

Takayama originally published the story on the user-submission site Shōsetsuka ni Narou. Kadokawa’s MF Books imprint has released seven volumes of the light novel series with illustrations by keepout so far, with the eighth volume set to release on July 21. Sei Takano has been serializing a manga adaptation in Kadokawa’s Comic Flapper magazine. The franchise has 2.3 million copies in circulation.
