Shogakukan's Manga ONE app recently announced a new manga titled "Jūō to Yakusō" (Beast King & Medicinal Herb). The work is set to debut on the platform on August 16. The story stems from the imaginative collaboration of Tatsukazu Konda, who is responsible for the narrative, and Asahi Sakano, who brings the characters to life through illustrations. Additionally, the character designs were created by Momochichi.

At the heart of the story is the journey of two main characters: a once-defeated beast king, believed to have been vanquished by a hero, and a nomadic doctor who travels across the land. Their intertwined stories promise an engaging dynamic and a fresh perspective on hero and anti-hero tropes.

A notable previous work by Sakano is the manga "Guardian of the Witch (Majo no Moribito)," which was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. This series was introduced in February 2020 and concluded in June of the same year.
