In the first episode, we meet Kouzuki Mahiru. She is a high school student who once had a passion for art. However, after a negative experience with her classmates regarding a jellyfish mural she created, that passion faded. The incident led her to abandon art altogether. Now, she strives to fit in and live an inconspicuous life, wandering aimlessly through the bustling streets of Shibuya.

Mahiru's life changes when she encounters a street idol performing in front of her old jellyfish mural. She intends to protest against the idol, but instead, another girl named Yamanouchi Kano speaks up, expressing her admiration for the mural. Mahiru is fascinated and follows Kano, who eventually reveals herself as the artist behind the mural. Kano, a former pop idol, now releases her musical performances online under the pseudonym JELEE. She becomes ecstatic upon discovering Mahiru's work and proposes a collaboration.

Although Kano is enthusiastic, Mahiru hesitates and declines the offer. She justifies her refusal by citing societal expectations and her focus on entrance exams. The conversation reveals Mahiru's self-doubt and Kano's own struggles with past fame. After a misunderstanding, Mahiru feels even worse. However, during a Halloween event where they dress as an angel and a devil, the two manage to reconcile.

They find common ground in standing against a PikPok idol, once again using Mahiru's mural as a backdrop. Kano sings a song in front of it, reaffirming her identity as JELEE. This inspires Mahiru to rediscover her artistic talents. To symbolically unite their strengths as a duo, they decide to collaborate. This way, it’s not just Kano performing alone.
