The episode begins with the group considering an expedition to the Lamentation Stratum, a place notorious for its eerie atmosphere and monsters like corpse and skeleton fiends. Lammis is visibly unhappy with the idea but insists that she can handle it. The group discusses who should carry Boxxo, as his ability to procure food is essential for long-term expeditions.

When the group arrives at the Lamentation Stratum, they find it just as unsettling as described, with gravestones and a gloomy atmosphere. Lammis struggles with her fears but is determined to overcome them. Boxxo tries to help by emitting the scent of coffee and playing soothing music, which seems to help Lammis regain some confidence.

Captain Kerioyl introduces more explorers, including the Band of Gluttons and Mishuel, who has joined the group on a trial basis. Their mission is to find and defeat the stratum lord known as the King of Souls. Boxxo’s barrier ability is highlighted as a crucial advantage in defending against the King of Souls’ magical attacks.

In an unexpected twist, Boxxo forms a unique bond with a corpse child that visits him at night. The child seems curious and even attempts to pay Boxxo with a copper coin. However, the child is killed by Aka, leaving Boxxo emotionally distressed.

At the end of the episode, the group prepares for their final confrontation with the King of Souls. They raise a toast to boost morale, and Boxxo silently vows to make everyone proud in the upcoming battle.
