Episode 11 of Jigokuraku (Hell's Paradise) reveals a deeper understanding of Tao, an essential energy system that exists in all living beings. As we have already learned, Tao exists in all living beings, but not everyone can sense, see, or manipulate it. Now, the people on the island are gaining these abilities. Shion has the ability to "see" Tao, Choubei learns to manipulate it, and Gabimaru acquires both skills. All of this happens quite quickly, as both Choubei and Gabimaru master Tao within minutes, with Gabimaru claiming to now be equal to the Tensen.

When the villains of the story are defeated, they reveal more about Tao, regardless of their previous affiliation with the Tensen. One interesting piece of information is that humans can become "one" with the plants on the island. Choubei demonstrates this by merging with the vines, gaining regenerative abilities similar to the Tensen.

The episode also brings clarity to Mei's situation. Identified as a member of the Tensen, Mei is considered defective. The Tensen are known for their ability to use five types of Jutsu, with the most powerful being Bochu-Jutsu. Unique to the Tensen is their ability to perform Bochu-Jutsu independently by transforming from a man into a woman. However, Mei cannot do this, leading to her banishment from Horai.

At the climax of Episode 11, Yuzuriha, Senta, Sagiri, and Hoko reach Horai and encounter Mu Dan, one of the Tensen.
