On the second day of Jump Festa 2023, new information about the upcoming anime Hell's Paradise (Jigokuraku) was revealed. The anime, based on the manga by Yuuji Kaku, will air on Japanese television in April 2023 and be made available by Crunchyroll. During a stage streaming event, a first trailer and a promotional poster for the anime were shown.

The main cast of the Jigokuraku anime was also announced, consisting of Chiaki Kobayashi as Gabimaru, Yumiri Hanamori as Yamada Asaemon Sagiri, Ryohei Kimura as Aza Chōbei, Kensho Ono as Yamada Asaemon Tōma, Rie Takahashi as Yuzuriha, Tetsu Inada as Tamiya Gantetsusai, and Aoi Ichikawa as Yamada Asaemon Fuchi. Kaori Makita is directing the TV project, which is being produced by Studio MAPPA, while Twin Engine is responsible for the project's planning. Akira Kindaichi is credited as the head writer, and Koji Hisaki as the anime's character designer. It was also announced that Yoshiaki Dewa will compose the music.

The Jigokuraku manga by Yuuji Kaku was serialized in Shōnen Jump+ starting January 2018 and consists of a total of 13 compiled volumes. By August 2020, the manga had a cumulative circulation of over 3.8 million copies and is one of the most popular works in the Shueisha app.

Jigokuraku follows Gabimaru, also known as the strongest ninja, who is captured during an escape attempt. The executioner Yamada Asaemon Sagiri offers to drop all charges against him if he journeys to a mysterious island where several other murderers in the same situation are gathered.
