Joran: The Princess of Snow and Blood Anime's Video Reveals Cast, Staff, Story, April 6th Debut

At a press conference, Bushiroad unveiled the first promotional video, cast, staff, story details, and the April 6 premiere date for the original TV anime project Joran: The Princess of Snow and Blood. The promo video features the opening theme song "Exist" by RAISE A SUILEN, who will also perform the ending theme song "Embrace of Light."

The anime is set in an alternate history of Japan in 1931, where the Tokugawa shogunate was never abolished and the Meiji Emperor never returned to power. The anime follows the activities of "Nue," an organization of executioners for the shogunate who enforce the government's rule. The story description includes intentional historical discrepancies: listing the year as the 64th year of the Meiji era (the Meiji era lasted only 45 years until 1912) and mentioning Tokugawa Yoshinobu as the ruling shogun (Tokugawa Yoshinobu died in 1913).
