The episode begins in a turbulent Oriana Kingdom, where the streets are scarred by war and the citizens struggle with the harsh realities of conflict. Cid reflects on his journey and the nature of his alter ego, the Eminence in Shadow. He questions his path.

Shadow Garden embarks on a mission under the leadership of Number 559 to uncover the Cult's intentions in conquering a small fortress city, Fort First. Rose Oriana, Number 666, participates in the mission as she is familiar with the area and has been directly authorized by Lord Shadow—a rarity within the organization.

The Cult of Kouadoi the Storm activates a mysterious glyph using royal blood and reveals a legendary ring. Shadow Garden plans to intercept the ring and retrieve it, but Rose is torn when she discovers that her mother, the Queen, is involved with the Cult. In a desperate attempt to save her mother, Rose inadvertently allows the key (the ring) to fall into the Cult's hands. This act is seen as betrayal by Shadow Garden.

Meanwhile, Cid ponders the political turmoil in Oriana and considers assisting in the installment of a new ruler, viewing Rose as a suitable candidate. He recalls her determination and questions her motives for assassinating her father, contemplating her potential as a tyrant.

The episode ends with Cid's surprise at Rose's impending marriage, which contradicts his vision of her future.
