Kaii to Otome to Kamikakushi - Episode 2

In this episode, Adashino and Sumireko discuss the mysterious disappearances of people linked to spirits. Sumireko, who is described as very well-read, references Hirata Atsutane's work Senkyou Ibun. Adashino asks Sumireko to pose as a student at Koone Girls' Academy, an all-girls school, to investigate unexplained phenomena due to her ability to induce transformations. Despite her concerns about fitting into a school uniform, Sumireko agrees, and they set off for the academy.

Upon their arrival, Sumireko is mistaken for an upperclassman named Wakazukuri-senpai. The students are fascinated by her and ask about her experiences. She learns of an illness affecting students called "Dribblers," characterized by fever, excessive drooling, and symptoms that only manifest at school and disappear at home. There are fears that this may be connected to supernatural occurrences referred to as "Curiosities."

Throughout the episode, Adashino and Sumireko speak with various students and teachers about the phenomena, gathering information under the pretense that Sumireko is a student. The episode concludes with Uname, a faculty member, apologizing to Sumireko for misjudging her and offering support for her dream of becoming a writer. The episode ends with a preview of the next episode, titled "Horns, Bullying, and a Hair Ornament."
