"Kaiju No. 8" announces new cast members, a latest promotional video and broadcast information

The TV anime adaptation of Naoya Matsumoto's "Kaiju No. 8" has revealed new cast information, a current promotional video, and details about the broadcast. The announcements were made during the "Kaiju No. 8" stage event at "Jump Festa 2024," held on December 17 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba.

Ai Fairouz has been cast as Kikoru Shinomiya, the exceptionally talented and elite daughter of the head of Japan's Defense Forces, Shinomiya Tsutomu. Kikoru, known for her extraordinary abilities, graduated early from a combat school abroad and already possesses power equivalent to that of a squad leader before her enlistment.

Kenjiro Tsuda plays Soshiro Hoshina, the vice-captain of the 3rd Division of Japan's Defense Forces. He comes from a family of monster hunters dating back to the Muromachi period. Hoshina is a sword specialist who even surpasses the division commander, Mina Ashiro, in combat against small to medium-sized monsters.

The latest video showcases intense action scenes, featuring the anime's visuals for the first time along with the voices of Kikoru Shinomiya and Soshiro Hoshina. In addition to the broadcast on TV Tokyo and related channels in April 2024, worldwide real-time streaming on X (formerly Twitter) has also been confirmed.

"Kaiju No. 8" is set in a world where humanity is regularly threatened by monsters and follows Kafka Hibino in his efforts to protect people from these threats. Kafka, who had given up on his dream of joining the Defense Force and fighting alongside his childhood friend Mina, is motivated by his encounter with Leno to pursue his dream again. However, his life takes a dramatic turn when he transforms into a powerful monster.
