The manga series "Kaku Naru Ue wa" by author Yū Takahata and artist Yūji Kaba is being adapted into a television anime. A first teaser trailer, a key visual, and information about the production team and main cast have been released.

The story is a romantic comedy between the rather reserved high school student Yūki Uehara and the lively classmate Nina Miyamoto, who belong to the same class. Yūki dreams of becoming a manga artist, but is criticized by a publisher that his romantic comedies lack authenticity. When Nina discovers his manuscript, it turns out that she has the same career aspiration and struggles with similar difficulties. The two decide to research in a kind of "secret fake relationship" and challenge each other in their artistic development.

The voice actors for the main roles have been announced. Ayumu Murase provides the voice for Yūki Uehara. Nina Miyamoto is voiced by Sayū Suzushiro.

The animation studio Roll2, known for titles such as "Koi wa Futago de Wari kirenai", is responsible for the production. Shunsuke Ishikawa serves as director, the series composition and scripts are by Deko Akao. The character design is created by Hiromi Nakagawa.

The released teaser trailer focuses on the interaction between Yūki and Nina. It shows how Yūki almost gives up on his dream, but gains new courage through Nina's carefree nature. The video also features the voices of the two main characters.

The original authors, Yū Takahata and Yūji Kaba, have commented on the anime adaptation. The voice actors Ayumu Murase and Sayū Suzushiro have also shared their thoughts on their roles. Additionally, artist Yūji Kaba published a specially made illustration to celebrate the anime adaptation.
