First visual insights into the planned anime film "Kamisarizuki no Kemono" are available. A pilot video as well as three different illustrations were published, accompanied by a statement from the original author.
The production was announced following the Expo 2025 in Osaka. The work thematically forms a counterpart to the earlier film "Kamiari no Kodomo", which dealt with Japanese connection values. This time, the creation mythology surrounding Awaji Island is the focus, which deals with the formation of the Japanese island chain.
The pilot video begins with the narration of an island nation born from a drop of salt. The sequence shows the fateful encounter between a demon-like boy, who appears like a hunted being, and a tengu girl, who meet across time and space.
Two of the three published motifs show Awaji Island as the setting. One shows the demon-like boy in the sea at sunset, while another motif shows the tengu girl on a rock in faint night light.
