Toto receives a new assignment from Amamiya, the details of which remain unclear at first. Reporter Monki Chikori from "Lime Weekly" shadows Toto for a day for her column "People to Watch" and expresses her admiration for detectives. At the café, a group of guests orders milk coffee. Ron, operating under the pseudonym Chasaku Kamokyuu, serves them. A woman named Julie suddenly collapses after drinking her milk coffee. The forensic team confirms cyanide poisoning in Julie's cup. Toto and Ron begin investigating the incident, considering the café staff and Julie's companions as suspects.

Toto concludes that the culprit knew Julie would choose the most photogenic milk coffee and subtly altered the other milk coffees to ensure she picked the poisoned one. He accuses Hayami, one of Julie's companions, of the crime. Hayami confesses to the murder, driven by jealousy and betrayal by Julie. Ron reacts violently to Hayami's confession and suggests brutal retaliation, but Toto intervenes.

Chikori gains a deeper understanding and respect for Toto's methodical approach to solving cases. Ron continues to interfere in the case, offering him a milk coffee and suggesting further collaboration with Chikori.
