Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru – Opening and Ending of the anime series released

For the upcoming premiere of the anime adaptation Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru (engl. A Country Bumpkin Becomes a Sword Saint), the non-credit versions of the opening and ending have now been released. The series, which celebrated its first broadcast on April 5th, tells the story of the medieval swordsmaster Beryl, who lives in rural idyll until a former student promotes him to the royal instructor of knights.

The opening HEROES, performed by T.M. Revolution (Nishikawa Takanori), accompanies scenes of Beryl's years of training and the bond with his students. The ending Alright!!! by the band FLOW, on the other hand, shows quieter moments – including campfire scenes during the characters' journeys. Both titles will be released as physical singles: HEROES on May 21st, Alright!!! on May 28th, 2024.

The series combines classic sword-fighting elements with humorous and human tones. Beryl's unexpected rise from village teacher to royal instructor presents him with new challenges that emphasize both action-packed battles and interpersonal dynamics. The released videos highlight the visual contrast between peaceful rural life and the duties at court.

Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru is based on a novel and is aimed at fans of character development stories with a historical setting.
