The story takes place at Kawagoe Private School, where Haruo Hibiki learns from the principal that the choir will participate in the Kanto Boys' Choir Competition at the end of the year. Two new characters are introduced: Barato Shizuo, a second-year student who enjoys baking and has a muscular build due to his father's influence, and Kobashi Kaito, also a second-year student, who is technically skilled and wants to defeat his self-proclaimed rival Yazawa Hiroshi.

Barato and Kobashi initially hesitate to join the choir. Barato is afraid his father will find out, while Kobashi is too focused on beating Yazawa. The principal suggests that the two join the choir to strengthen it, and Haruo agrees.

During rehearsals, Haruo and music teacher Iijima Rika assess the vocal abilities of the new recruits. Kobashi's performance is particularly distracting, and Haruo advises him to find his own voice instead of focusing on Yazawa. Meanwhile, Barato is approached by Masuda, the weightlifting club coach, who tries to recruit him. A confrontation ensues between Masuda and Haruo, leading to a chaotic scene where Barato expresses his desire to join the choir.

Inspired by Barato's honesty, Kobashi also decides to join the choir. He realizes his mistake and vows to be himself. Haruo welcomes the two new members, even as he humorously critiques Kobashi's singing.

The episode ends with the choir gaining two new members, both finding their voice and their place in the group. The stage is set for the journey to the next competition.
