The official Twitter account for Kadokawa's Shōnen Ace magazine announced on Friday that Natsume Akatsuki's Kemonomichi manga will get an anime this year. The announcement did not specify the anime's format.
The manga follows masked wrestler Genzō Shibata, who loves all kinds of animals and creatures. One day, he is summoned to another world, where a princess asks him to kill magical beasts, but he gets angry and puts her in a German suplex. Instead, he begins his life as an animal trader in the other world.
Akatsuki (Konosuba) writes the series, while the Baka & Test - Summon the Beasts artist duo Mo-suke Mattaku and Yumeuta provide the art. The duo launched the manga in November 2016 under Shōnen Ace. The fourth compiled volume will ship on January 26.
