Netflix announced on Wednesday that the second season of the anime adaptation of the manga "Kengan Ashura" by Yabako Sandrovich will premiere on the streaming platform in September. The upcoming season will showcase the finale of the Kengan Annihilation Tournament and the conclusion of the original story.

"Kengan Ashura" made its worldwide debut on Netflix in July 2019. The second part, consisting of episodes 13 to 24, was released in October of the same year. The manga won a fan competition in 2015, which led to the creation of the anime adaptation.

Seiji Kishi directed at Larx Entertainment, Makoto Uezu was responsible for the series composition, and Kazuaki Morita designed the characters. Yasuharu Takanashi of Team-MAX composed the music, while MY FIRST STORY contributed the opening song "King & Ashley" and the hip-hop crew BAD HOP provided the opening song "Born This Way."

The manga, which Sandrovich published in 2012 with illustrations by Daromeon in the Manga ONE app, concluded its original run in August 2018. However, a new story arc was published in the Manga ONE app in January 2019.

"Kengan Ashura" tells the story of businessmen and merchants who bet large sums of money to hire fighters for unarmed close-quarters combat matches, known as Kengan matches. The strong and mysterious Ōma Tokita, nicknamed Ashura, participates in these fights and catches the attention of the chairman of the Nogi Group, Hideki Nogi, who has his own ambitions. The story unfolds as Ashura becomes entangled in the battles for Kengan.
