On the official website of the series, a promotional video for the upcoming second season of the anime adaptation of the manga Kengan Ashura by Yabako Sandrovich was recently released. The premiere of the anime on Netflix is scheduled for September 21, as announced in the video. In addition to the release date, viewers got a preview of the anime's opening song, "RED," performed by the metal band SiM.





The upcoming season will showcase the final rounds of the Kengan Annihilation Tournament, bringing the story to its climax.


The first season of Kengan Ashura was released worldwide on Netflix in July 2019. The second season, comprising episodes 13 to 24, was released on Netflix in October of the same year.


Seiji Kishi directed the anime at Larx Entertainment, while Makoto Uezu handled series composition and Kazuaki Morita was in charge of character design. The music was composed by Yasuharu Takanashi of Team-MAX. The band MY FIRST STORY performed the opening song "King & Ashley," while the hip-hop crew BAD HOP provided the ending song "Born This Way."


In the manga's plot, companies and merchants sponsor fighters for unarmed close combat matches where large sums of money are at stake. These Kengan matches, whose origins date back to the Edo period, are used to settle disputes. The series follows the fearsome Ōma Tokita, known as Ashura, who participates in these battles, and the hidden ambitions of the Nogi Group's president, Hideki Nogi, which are set in motion by Ashura's involvement in the Kengan matches.
